A Full Plate, in the Best Way
How Many Events Do You Do a Day? A Weekend? A Week?
The answer is… I’m not 100% sure.
Over the last few months, as Mountain Fluff has grown, I’ve tried a little bit of everything. Multiple events in one day. Two-day events. Three-day events. Big community events packed into the same weekend as smaller private ones.
And through all of that, I’ve learned something important: I want to keep my schedule full for me.
A friend once told me about a sermon she heard that has always stuck with me. The idea was that everyone has a plate—and everyone’s plate is a different size. What feels like a full plate to me may be too much for someone else, or it may not feel like enough. And that’s okay.
I work full time. I have a family. And I run Mountain Fluff because I genuinely love it. I love being part of our community, meeting new people, seeing familiar faces, and providing something simple and nostalgic that makes people smile.
But I’ve also realized that growing a small business doesn’t have to mean saying yes to every opportunity.
Sometimes growing means figuring out which opportunities are the right ones.
So, you’ll see Mountain Fluff at plenty of events throughout the year. And sometimes, you might see me at an event without my cotton candy machine just enjoying the day with my family, supporting another local business, or simply being part of the community I love.
I’m learning what my plate looks like.
And right now, I think it’s pretty full…in the best way.
